A powerful synth riff eventually bursts through the mix, shifting the track into a higher gear. From this point onwards, “whales.and.dolphins” becomes increasingly intense, combining distorted vocal elements, industrial textures, and driving electronic rhythms. Despite the density of the production, the different elements remain distinct, helping the track retain clarity as it builds.
Taken from the EP hey.greg, “whales.and.dolphins” serves as the conceptual centrepiece of a release inspired by the writings of Franz Kafka. Here, neuroboy draws on The Metamorphosis, translating its themes into a dark electronic framework built from glitch, industrial, and experimental influences. While knowledge of the source material adds another layer to the experience, the track stands comfortably on its own as an engaging piece of electronic music.
Based in the mountains of New Hampshire, neuroboy creates electronic music that blends glitchy production, experimental sound design, and a playful sense of exploration. “whales.and.dolphins” is a strong example of that approach, combining inventive production with plenty of drive and personality.
