A low, descending bassline anchors Tinyforest’s “ohyoutrippin” from the opening, with rising percussive samples adding movement above it. The drums remain sparse, leaving gaps around the low end while a worn, emotive vocal sample drifts in and out of the arrangement.
Sub bass, clipped percussion and the off-kilter vocal gradually settle into a tight rhythmic pattern. Around the midpoint the feel changes, with a more obvious dubstep pulse emerging as a heavier, processed bass begins to push the track forward.
Small glitches and changes in the percussion continue around the heavier bass, while the vocal fragments remain slightly behind the beat. The shift gives the second half more weight without losing the space established earlier in the track.
Tinyforest is a Louisville-based trap and experimental bass producer. “ohyoutrippin” is the second track from the forthcoming EP checkin, due 11 September 2026, combining sparse percussion, vocal fragments and a low end that becomes increasingly prominent as the track develops.
