Betageist is a project Miami-based audio software engineer Kevin Heber, who has years of experience as an audio developer working in DSP algorithm development.
Influences for the ethereal sound of Betageist span a spectrum of genres and decades – from classic ambient electronica such as Tangerine Dream, to instrumental post-rock (Tycho, The American Dollar, Lights Out Asia), organic electronica (Schiller, Helios, Rhys Fulber), and neo-classical (Nils Frahm, Ben Lukas Boysen), with a little progressive rock (Mike Oldfield, Marillion).
It’s a wonderful warm sound, which is beautifully produced, with rock, electronic and cinematic overtones creating a warm and welcoming soundscape. It’s a lovely experience with headphones…
