The single features field recordings of refugees describing how their homes smelled, collected during interviews conducted by Axxi in the spring. Axxi Oma, an electronic music producer, singer, and live performer from Kharkiv, Ukraine, relocated to Berlin in March 2022. Her work in Ukrainian electronica and downtempo genres transforms the realm of subconsciousness into sound and visuals, guiding listeners toward self-connection. Before diving into electronic music, she made her mark as a theatre composer in Berlin. In her live performances, she uses vocal looping techniques within her semi-analog setup, creating harmonies and arranging them in electronica and downtempo styles, always leaving room for improvisation to connect with her audience. She has performed at various notable venues and festivals in Berlin, solidifying her presence in the city’s vibrant electronic music scene.
