YULYSEUS is a Scottish producer and multi-instrumentalist. We’ve featured a good number of Scottish musicians on this blog, and more than happy to continue with YULYSEUS…
Here’s a little about him taken from his bio…
Making music since a young age, he began playing in bands around Glasgow, eventually headlining the T Break stage at T in The Park. In 2012 he moved to Berlin, where he picked up work touring Germany as a session guitar and keyboard player. It was during these formative years that his interest in electronic and ambient music deepened.
Early demos were given airtime by Ireland’s answer to John Peel, Cian Ó Cíobháin, who featured tracks on his RTE1 new music showcase An Taobh Tuathail. Following this, two singles were released via The Ambient Zone (Jon Hopkins, Digitonal, Warmth) which have racked up close to a quarter of a million streams across platforms.
In 2020, his first release ‘Non Era’ received positive reviews. After moving to Mexico City during 2021, he returned to hometown of Glasgow where he has just completed his 2nd full length LP In the Dark Palaces of Both Our Hearts, due out 2/12/2022.
Which brings us on to Nevini Tremor, the second track from his new album, In the Dark Places of Both Our Hearts. It’s a wonderful sound, with a gated atmosphere and ambient synths, slowly building and evolving, with vocal textures added later, coming together as a wall of ethereal textures…
It’s a lovely album, from the outset offering an other worldly place to absorb yourself. Check out the whole thing on Spotify or Bandcamp, where you can also get a copy of vinyl.
