Yarck's 'Polynomials': An Extraterrestrial Journey Through Rhythmic Landscapes

In “Polynomials,” electronic producer Yarck presents a delightful exploration of contrasting rhythms, creating an engaging and immersive sonic experience. This track skillfully plays with pulse and rhythm, shifting them across different planes, encouraging listeners to engage actively with the music. The result is a mesmerizing fusion of captivating synth tones and expertly programmed percussion.

As the second single from Yarck’s upcoming EP, “Polynomials” is a sonic testament to the artist’s inspiration drawn from the artsy Dub Techno sound and influential figures like Jan Jelinek, Basic Channel, and Pole. This track showcases a keen sense of experimentation and a willingness to push the boundaries of electronic music.

Yarck, based in one of Amsterdam’s famous tiny houses, creates music that transports listeners to an extraterrestrial realm inhabited by wildly different flora and fauna. Each track is a sonic journey, much like taking a stroll on an alien planet where you might begin in one place but find yourself in an entirely different terrain by the end.

Influenced by renowned artists such as Aphex Twin, Boards of Canada, Jan Jelinek, and Burial, Yarck’s music is a captivating blend of innovation and nostalgia. His debut single, “Untangle,” earned a spot on Spotify’s Braindance Editorial Playlist, marking an impressive entry into the world of electronic music. Yarck’s talent also took him to the legendary Dutch festival “Le Guess Who?” in 2019, where he shared the stage with artists like Björk (DJ set), Mykki Blanco, Machinedrum, and Fis.

Yarck’s musical journey began with formal education in electronic composition in Utrecht and the conservatory in The Hague. He frequently performed live on stage with self-made instruments, demonstrating his dedication to pushing the boundaries of sound and technology. His notable performance at the prestigious royal theater of Amsterdam, Carré, for the Dutch Queen’s birthday in 2007 was even broadcasted on Dutch national TV.

Looking ahead, Yarck has an exciting lineup of releases, including his debut album, set to be unveiled later this year. Leading up to the album’s release, several singles will offer listeners a taste of his unique sonic landscapes.
