Here’s a release from Steve Hadfield, and another recent release from Bricolage. It follows Steve’s Bangers and Mash release last year, and brings to the table a selection of noisy, energetic, and pounding electronic beats, once you get past the opening track, the delectable Cinema Roll.
I’m going to share a couple of tracks here, and leave you to discover the rest for yourself.
Here’s Chimney Bolognese, with swirling phasing synths overseeing a barrage of beats and rhythms, not for the faint hearted…
And Fibonachos and Cheese, with a devilishly downtempo sound that moves up the tempo accompanied by synth lines building tension as it goes. After a brief lull, we’re taken to a half tempo finale, until it gets faster again. This tune is nuts…
And last but not least is the epic title track, Rhubarb and Custard. It opens with a fast hardcore rave ethic, plenty of space in the mix to give your ears an opportunity to tune into the rhythmic elements. It’s probably my favourite track from a strong release…
And we can’t feature a release like this without paying homage to the classic TV theme tune, one of my personal all time favourites…
