We’re delighted to bring you another premiere, a lovely track from Field Glass, released on Friday via Happy Robots. If you don’t know them, Happy Robots are a wonderful label releasing quirky, experimental and fun electronic music. See our Alice Hubble / Pye Corner Audio and Mood Taeg posts for more.
Using a variety of acoustic and electronic instruments, brothers Dan and Jacob Mayfield have produced their debut album, aptly titled ‘Kin’. It’s mostly a live recording, made over a couple of days at the wonderful sounding Big Jelly Studios, and combines elements of ambient, shoegaze and electronica.
Dan and Jacob are passionate about sharing their love for electronic music, sound and creativity. As a result of this they founded a learning platform called School of Noise, designed to encourage children and young people to explore sound and musical creativity. This in turn gave them the momentum to create this release.
The album’s artwork was designed by Jason Evans who has previously worked with Four Tet, Radiohead and Caribou. The album will be released on limited edition clear vinyl lathe cut LP and on all major digital platforms, distributed by Cargo Records.
So whilst your waiting for the album, I hope you enjoy the delights of Gardens, released this Friday…
