Warren Cockrell - A Head Squeeze

A Head Squeeze is a track from New York-based musician Warren Cockrell. Warren began his musical journey in the classical world, learning the basics at school in Texas, but soon discovered that computer music and programming, inspired by the likes of Aphex Twin and Brian Eno were much more satisfying.

After graduation, Cockrell moved to New York to finally build his musical career. Having spent all his money to get there, he had no way of buying any equipment. He would frequent a vintage piano shop in Columbus Circle, spending his days picking apart old, broken, forgotten pianos. After repeatedly being asked to leave by the owners who clearly saw him having no intentions of purchasing a piano, he gained access to the basement from a friend who worked the front counter. He spent the next few weeks recording demos off his phone for material that would later make up Sleeping Well Is Easy. Since the release of his debut record, he’s performed in several New York underground venues, and is planning a sophomore release in early 2022.
