Premiering today, “Transmisión Clandestina” introduces the next phase of Terror/Cactus, combining downtempo electronics with rhythmic patterns rooted in cumbia and broader Latin American traditions.
The track opens with a steady, percussive groove that immediately establishes its direction. It moves with a relaxed confidence, allowing space for melodic elements to emerge gradually. Guitar lines begin to weave through the rhythm, carrying a slightly psychedelic tone that shifts between foreground and background.
As the arrangement develops, additional harmonic layers build, adding depth without overcrowding the mix. The transition into a more defined breakbeat section brings a stronger sense of momentum, while still maintaining the track’s laid-back feel. There is a clear balance between movement and restraint, with each element given room to contribute.
Melody plays an important role throughout. It moves between percussive phrasing and more fluid guitar-led passages, giving the track a sense of variation while keeping the overall structure cohesive. The production remains clean and detailed, allowing the groove to carry the track forward.

“‘Transmisión Clandestina’ (Clandestine Transmission) imagines a pirate radio taking over the airwaves with a transformative signal that causes listeners to awaken and experience uninhibited freedom. The song combines the rhythmic shuffle of cumbia with layers of euphoric psychedelic guitars and synthesizers to create a feeling that is uplifting and expansive.”
That idea comes through in the way the track unfolds, gradually expanding while maintaining a steady, hypnotic core.
About the Album: Colapso
“Transmisión Clandestina” is taken from the forthcoming album Colapso, released June 12 via Share It Music.
The record marks a shift in direction for Terror/Cactus. Where earlier work explored identity and personal space, Colapso looks outward, focusing on systems, resistance, and the unseen structures that shape everyday life. The album treats collapse not as an ending, but as a point of transformation.
Across the record, traditional Latin American influences sit alongside contemporary electronic production. Argentine folk, Peruvian chicha, and Colombian cumbia are woven into a framework of psychedelic guitar, field recordings, dub textures, and layered percussion. The result is a sound that moves between cultural references while maintaining a consistent rhythmic focus.
There is also a strong conceptual thread running through the release. Themes of migration, cultural memory, and connection are reflected in the way sounds are combined. Fragments of urban environments, passing voices, and environmental recordings sit alongside more melodic and harmonic elements, creating a sense of movement between past and present.
In line with these themes, 10% of proceeds from Colapso will be donated to the Northwest Immigrant Rights Project.
Artist Background
Terror/Cactus is the project of Argentine-born producer and multi-instrumentalist Martín Selasco. Born in Buenos Aires, raised in Miami, and now based in the Pacific Northwest, his work reflects a broad musical background shaped by both heritage and environment.
Music has been part of Selasco’s life from an early age. His grandparents founded the Argentine label Music Hall, while his father later established ANS Records in Miami, focusing on Latin American releases. Growing up surrounded by recorded music, Selasco developed a strong connection to sound as both cultural history and creative material.
Since launching Terror/Cactus in 2017, the project has become a space for combining traditional rhythms with electronic production. Previous releases have explored themes of identity and belonging, while Colapso expands that scope into wider social and cultural territory.
