There’s an immediate focus on processed voices, appearing in layers and fragments before occasionally resolving into clearer phrases. Rather than simply sitting above the track, the vocals are pulled into the production itself, warped and reshaped as part of the wider texture.
A rolling drum pattern gives the track its momentum, with enough space and swing between the hits to create a brooding, slightly uneasy groove. Growling bass adds weight underneath, while dense synth textures occupy the middle ground. Occasionally, brighter melodic sounds cut through the mix, providing some contrast before the track returns to its darker palette.
The vocal becomes more prominent again later, bringing something closer to a song structure without settling into a conventional lead performance. Around it, clicks, filtered sounds and smaller processed details continue to shift, giving the repeated rhythmic ideas plenty of movement.
“Need To Know” is the final single ahead of Angelides’ Can You Feel The End Begin?, released 14 August via Ancestor. Its combination of club-focused rhythm, heavily treated vocals and experimental sound design makes for a tense piece of electronic music that keeps changing around its central groove.
