Teleporter Scape Orchestra: “The Draft Of A Ball” – An Experimental Sound Journey

Teleporter Scape Orchestra’s debut track “The Draft Of A Ball” delivers an ambient atmosphere rich with fragments of melody, plucked strings, and bell-like piano tones. Building in texture, the track incorporates environmental and bird sounds, creating an atmospheric and experimental soundscape that is both ambient and wonderfully composed. This piece offers a preliminary glimpse into the upcoming EP by Leipzig-based experimental musician Sebastian Bode, set to be released in fall 2024 via TELESKOP.

Sebastian Bode, the creative force behind Teleporter Scape Orchestra (TSO), explores the transformation of sounds through the aesthetic modification of original source materials. Field recordings, distinctive spaces, and abstract textures are interwoven and processed through various effect paths, distilling atmospheres from noise, tonal clusters, and disruptive elements. Traditional musical instruments are used as collage-like puzzle pieces, manipulated through a diverse array of recording and playback tools, including samplers, loop tapes, synths, digital FX, and vinyl. This approach strips down to the pure layers of sound, showcasing the boundless nature of music and its unifying force.

Bode’s journey into sound manipulation is rooted in his mastery of drumming and years of individual experimentation. As a founding member of the indie/electronica duo Wooden Peak and a contributor to TELESKOP – Studio For Aural Arts, he has honed his skills in various production settings, including radio play audio, film scoring, and experimental sound design. “The Draft Of A Ball” not only exemplifies his distinct approach to sound but also sets the stage for a captivating debut EP that promises to push the boundaries of ambient and experimental music.
