Numeral and Fels Collaborate on Thrilling “Hideous” Remix

Swiss electronic artist numeral teams up with Fribourg producer Fels for a remix of the 2023 single Hideous. Featured on numeral’s new four-track remix EP, this version showcases Fels’ knack for blending broken beats, UK garage, and liquid drum and bass elements into a cohesive and captivating reinterpretation.

Opening with skipping rhythms and a resonant bass synth riff, Fels’ remix builds on a solid foundation of ambient textures and pounding kicks. As the track progresses, layered synth arpeggios and riffs heighten the harmonic energy, creating an atmospheric and dynamic listening experience. The remix balances precision with an organic feel, delivering a groove that captivates from start to finish.

Numeral, the project of Swiss drummer and producer Philippe Adam, has earned a reputation for meticulous audio design and evocative soundscapes. Known for blending rumbling sub-basses, intricate beats, and ambient textures, numeral’s music moves between dark, dystopian moods and luminous melodies. Alongside his work as a drummer with indie bands like The Lugubrious and Faux Tales, numeral’s solo output showcases a unique approach to production, often deconstructing and reshaping sounds with meticulous detail.

The Hideous remix EP is another milestone in numeral’s growing discography, which includes the 2020 debut EP numeral, the 2022 follow-up Primeval, and collaborations such as the single Landing with Bristol producer Brecon. Released under Blizzard Audio Club, the EP unites voices from Geneva to Berlin, reflecting numeral’s commitment to collaboration and innovation in electronic music.
