Mike Galvin’s latest release, Rubber Heart, Iron Soul, brings an old-school sensibility to modern techno. Built around a riff-driven synth motif, the track quickly gains momentum with a punchy four-on-the-floor beat. House-influenced rhythms and ambient-leaning synth textures create a hypnotic atmosphere, while darker, evolving elements introduce a sense of tension and depth.
Designed for both home listening and club settings, Rubber Heart, Iron Soul uses repetition to immerse the listener, blending syncopated beats with a resonant bassline that drives the track forward. This is Galvin’s second release with LVLD Music, a sub-label of LFTD Global.
Galvin’s background spans classical training, indie bands, and the underground rave scene of early 2000s Dublin, with influences drawn from jazz improvisation, cinematic scores, and the kinetic energy of Berlin and Detroit techno. Since relocating to Toronto in 2015, he has worked as a session guitarist, contributed to film scores—including the award-winning Irish short A Silence Between—and refined his own electronic sound. Rubber Heart, Iron Soul reflects this diverse musical journey, balancing rhythmic energy with an introspective edge.
