Marysia Osu returns with her third single, memento mori, from her upcoming debut LP harp, beats & dreams on Brownswood Recordings. The track opens with gentle, ambient soundscapes, blending reverb-soaked string elements and soft, delicate harp melodies. These tones create a serene backdrop, while collaborator YUIS adds delayed flute lines that introduce a flowing, melodic touch. Harmonies throughout the piece feel subtly jazz-influenced, enhancing the track’s unique mix of classical ambience and modern electronic textures.
As memento mori progresses, rhythmic elements and basslines slowly emerge, driving the piece forward with momentum that complements its reflective atmosphere. The title, inspired by the stoic mantra “remember you must die,” serves as a reminder to live fully in the present, a theme that resonates throughout the composition. Osu’s harp, accompanied by the flute and enveloped in rich ambient production, encourages a sense of contemplation and emotional depth.

Having gained recognition as a key member of Levitation Orchestra and as a graduate of Brownswood’s ‘Bubblers’ academy, Osu brings a fresh and dynamic approach to harp music. The release coincides with her performance at the ICA for the EFG London Jazz Festival on November 17th, where she will support Fabiano do Nascimento.
Originally from Poland, Osu discovered the harp at a young age, continuing her studies after her family moved to London. Her music reflects her deep connection with the instrument, exploring its expressive capabilities and blending it seamlessly with other instruments. Memento mori is a beautiful, calming reflection on life’s transience, drawing listeners into its meditative sound world.
