Luigi Porto – Distaste / L’Ingorgo

Back in 2014 Luigi Porto, an Italian composer (now resident in NYC), recorded a soundtrack for a movie that was never released. Scimmie was the name of the film, and the soundtrack was highly regarded at the time.

Distaste is a standout track from the release. Beginning with a couple of piano chords, shifting backwards and forwards, accompanied by glitching percussive sounds and later accompanied by some dark cello and vocal fragments, it has a definite horror vibe to it. Later on it has a drop, built up with monkey sounds, leading into a drum break, and some strings, guitar and vocal building a mysterious and brooding atmosphere. It’s certainly dark and very trippy, I hope you enjoy…

If you liked that then you want to hear some more Luigi? Here’s a track from Luigi Porto’s EP “Respirano”, which was originally released in 2007, and re-released by Respirano Records…
