Belgian synthesist and composer Lennart Heyndels delivers a detailed and immersive rework of Meditation VI, originally composed by Koben Sprengers. Released as the second entry in Sprengers’ rework series, this version brings new energy to the original, combining intricate modular synth work with evolving textures and dynamic rhythmic structures.
Heyndels’ rework opens with glitching beats that establish a rhythmic framework, gradually building intensity as arpeggios and harmonic elements unfold. The sound design is both detailed and spacious, allowing melodic fragments to emerge and develop. As the track progresses, textures shift and recombine, giving the piece a sense of continual motion.
While retaining the reflective quality of Sprengers’ original composition, Heyndels infuses it with his modular-based approach—layering melodic patterns and rhythmic structures into a rich and expressive arrangement. The result is a reinterpretation that respects the tone of the source material while extending it into new sonic territory.
