Greydient, the brainchild of Canadian composer Caleb Cameron based in Cleveland, Ohio, unveils a captivating exploration of experimental electronic music with two distinct tracks: “Dream No One” and “Contrast, Found Sound Sampling.”
In “Dream No One,” the listener is immediately enveloped in a sonic dreamscape. Fragments of speech and ambient sounds bounce around, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. Droning textures and fragments of melody shape the rhythmic pulse, eventually giving way to a beat backed by samples that provide both harmonic and rhythmic elements. The track takes a turn with the introduction of a melodic synth line, accompanied by brass-like textures that add an intriguing harmonic and melodic focus. “Dream No One” is a journey through experimental IDM, offering a unique blend of found sound sampling and a slice of dreamlike ambiance, reminiscent of a sonic train scape.
