Enter the ethereal world of Hessien, where gentle atmospheric pads, rolling synth arpeggios, and mellow percussion elements converge to create a captivating soundscape. In his track “The Far Side,” taken from his second album, Hessien showcases his own creative prowess through self-released music that promotes wellbeing and connection.
Central to Hessien’s music is the theme of building connections and fostering inner peace amidst the chaos of everyday life. “The Far Side” offers listeners an escape from the frenetic pace of modern living, inviting them to immerse themselves in its unpredictable yet soothing melodies.
Hessien is the moniker of Keith Murphy, a dedicated teacher, composer, and multi-instrumentalist whose passion for supporting others in their creative endeavors shines through in his music. By day, Keith is a secondary school music teacher, guiding young minds on their own musical journeys. By night, he delves into his studio, where he crafts compositions that traverse the boundaries of ambient and electronic music.
With his debut album “Seven Stones,” released during the UK Coronavirus lockdown in June 2020, Keith ventured into the ambient electronic genre under the name Hessien. Now, with “The Far Side” and his upcoming release “Afterlight,” Keith continues to explore the depths of electronic soundscapes, creating music that evolves with the changing light of day.
“Afterlight,” described as “music for when the lights go down,” takes listeners on a journey through the night, from dusk till dawn. Inspired by Keith’s late-night studio sessions, the album captures the essence of quiet introspection and contemplation.
