Here’s something a little noisy, yet with some lovely organic synth textures to get your ears around. It develops into a pulsating beaty groove to get your toes tapping, lots of boxes ticked here…
Another State of Matter is the second single from the upcoming debut EP from the Danish electronica duo, BYLJA. Inspired by artists such as Kiasmos, Jon Hopkins, and Boards of Canada, Marchel Mørk and Emil Aagaard began creating music together in 2018. Since then, they have released several songs and also remixes for bands like teepee and KIDSØ. The duo has also performed on some of Denmark’s biggest festivals such as Spot Festival, Uhørt Festival, and Smukfest and has shared a stage with bigger names like Maribou State and Lydmor.
On this track BYLJA collaborated with the Danish producer Rumpistol, who is well known as one of the pioneers of Danish IDM and experimental electronic music. With Another State of Matter, BYLJA uses an array of synthesizers to create a forward-moving and up-front electronic beat mixed with ambient and discreet soundscapes:
“Another State of Matter is a homage to the complexity and wonders of space, and all the different states of matter that exist within it. We really wanted to capture the sounds of something abstract and overwhelming and use that as the inspiration for the track. Another State of Matter is an interpretation of the raw energy we associate with the cosmos and all the amazing things that it may contain.”
