Bunnicula is Ian Turner, Eyal Hai, Arnan Raz and Daniel Meron, a collaboration between musicians from LA, Tel-Aviv and Brookly, who’s just released their debut album, Existential Rabbit Hop.
It’s an interesting collaboration, with each musician recording one musical idea, and sending it off to the next band member to add their own. The song was structured around a distinct drum beat created by Daniel. It alternated between a displaced hip hop rhythm and mechanical clock-like noises. Ian added a modern jazz guitar progression, giving the track a psychedelic dimension. Eyal transformed the song by adding vocals, turning it into a complete piece. Lastly, Arnan contributed soulful riffs on the tenor saxophone.
It’s a lovely sound, the drums are crunchy and laid back, provided a backbone for the layered vocals and wonderful jazzy vibes, imagine a chilled out Beach Boys with a healthy dose of psychedlia , immerse yourself in it below…
