“Brood” opens with a sequence of chord movements that immediately evoke a classic electronic sensibility. Repeating percussion establishes a sense of momentum before the track shifts into a lo-fi rhythmic groove, allowing its darker atmosphere to gradually emerge.
Once the beat arrives, the track settles into an engaging downtempo flow. Rolling drum loops provide a solid foundation while layers of strings, synths, and textured instrumentation continue to develop around them. There is a strong sense of progression throughout, with the arrangement carefully unfolding rather than relying on dramatic shifts.
The combination of electronic production and acoustic instrumentation works particularly well.
