Scrimshire is songwriter, producer, DJ and label owner Adam Scrimshire. He’s the founder of Albert’s Favourites, and a co-owner of Wah Wah 45s. Over the last 15 years he’s had many successes, including his second album being a BBC 6 Music Album of the Week.
Beginning back in October 2021, Scrimshire started a daily ritual of one-hour writing sessions. Each so-called “Exploration” was kept to a one-minute piece of music. The process and final pieces were shared each day across his Instagram and YouTube channels.
As summer 2022 ended Scrimshire revisited these explorations, recapturing the ideas and feelings and creating more expansive compositions, each song is named after a deciduous tree common in the UK.
The track you can enjoy below is Hornbeam, a name given to hardwood trees in the flowering plant genus Carpinus in the birch family Betulaceae.
