“YĀD,” featuring Samar Araghi, showcases an innovative blend of traditional Persian music and electronic elements. The track presents an engaging texture, where processed acoustic sounds create an authentic experience from both cultural and electronic perspectives.
Part of the Dožam project, “YĀD” celebrates traditional Persian music through a contemporary and experimental lens. The Tār, a traditional Persian string instrument, is processed to meet textural electronic sounds, rooted in a specific Iranian mode.
Kimia Koochakzadeh-Yazdi, a composer and performer, focuses on merging her Iranian heritage with influences from her experiences in Canada and the US. She creates hybrid instrumental and electronic works, often drawing inspiration from the unexpected in music. Currently pursuing her DMA in Music Composition at Stanford University, she has co-founded Fashion x Electronics, a collective dedicated to interdisciplinary works that integrate fashion and electronic music.
