Inwards is the alias of Kristian Shelley, a multi-instrumentalist and modular synth programmer from Worcestershire. He’s a DIY musician, self-releasing his music to the world, and it’s quite lovely.
His debut album, ‘Diesel‘ was released last year, and was picked up by people such as Tom Ravenscroft, Don Letts and Electronic Sound Magazine. He’s releasing a new album, All The Things You Left Behind later this year, and has shared a new track from the album, Retrograde, in advance of this.
It’s got a great chilled out vibe to it, minimal and slightly hypnotic, driven forwards by simple drum and percussion programming before breaking down in the middle. It all comes back to life for the end, and left me enjoying it in a Selected Ambient Works kind of way…
