Exploring Ethereal Soundscapes: John von Seggern & Dean De Benedictis’ “Trinity Divide”

Renowned ambient artists John von Seggern and Dean De Benedictis have released their captivating track “Trinity Divide,” a highlight from their collaborative album, “Taking Shasta Mountain by Strategy.” This mesmerizing piece, now available on all major platforms, features a blend of bass guitar, Chapman Stick, and synthesizers, offering a rich tapestry of atmospheric, ambient vibes.

The collaboration between von Seggern and De Benedictis was serendipitously sparked at Steve Roach’s 2023 concert in Los Angeles. Drawing inspiration from Brian Eno’s ‘Taking Tiger Mountain by Strategy’ and De Benedictis’ impending Mount Shasta climb, the album’s title also nods to von Seggern’s experiences touring in China. The result is a soundscape that gently washes over the listener, with sounds ebbing and flowing, hints of melody, and harmonies subtly emerging.
