David Deutsch is a composer and musician from Los Angeles, who’s worked on music for has film, television, trailers, video games, and VR interactive programs. David lives for nature, plants, soccer, cool new vegan recipes, hiking mountains and glaciers around the world, and his 2 cats, Marty and Jelly. He’s also recently completed Prism, a new EP. Free Shavacado begins with a lovely repeated piano passage, with gentle layers of strings and melodic percussion building in texture before a string melody takes the lead. Once the track establishes itself a vocal appears, adding an organic element to the track…
As the Wind Blows again begins with piano, and again is quickly layered with strings, but this time it’s a more gentle affair, slower and more completive. Repeating violin lines which remind me of Steve Reich add momentum, moving things forward. Later we’re rewarded with some interesting textures, adding depth to the track before a mellow close…
Iceland was inspired by a visit from David, where he spent 2-weeks hiking and camping, soaking up the beauty of Iceland . It’s a mellow affair to begin with ambient piano and strings, before later being interjected with what sounds like heavenly vikings adding depth and character to the track.
So there’s more to check out on David’s Spotify, including more from the EP, and a soundtrack he’s produced. I’m informed that there’s an album release in the works, so we’ll hopefully check that out when it’s released…
