Cristoph & ADZ Unveil “Fading”: A Nod to Classic and Contemporary Techno

Cristoph, known for his deep-rooted connection to the techno and house music scenes, teams up with ADZ to release “Fading,” a track that blends classic techno production with contemporary vocal styles. This collaboration marks a melding of eras, where the atmospheric synths and sonic drums meet a driving, funky bassline, reminiscent of Underworld’s distinctive sound. “Fading” is out now under Factory93 Records, a label that continues to push the boundaries of electronic music with its diverse roster and quality releases.

Growing up in Northern England, Cristoph was heavily inspired by the Chicago house scene, drawing influence from legendary acts like Masters At Work, as well as the progressive sounds of Sasha & Digweed. It’s this blend of house and progressive influences, combined with his personal journey through music, that shapes his unique sound. His career in DJing took off thanks to his brother, who secured Cristoph his first gig in a local Newcastle venue, and his father, who supported his passion by purchasing his first set of decks.

Cristoph’s mastery of vinyl and his early experiences in the studio paved the way for his success, which was further propelled by the guidance of Hot Since 82. His breakout track “Alone” on Knee Deep In Sound showcased his ability to captivate the dance floor, leading to a pivotal moment when Eric Prydz recognized his talent. Prydz’s mentorship and offer to join the ‘Pryda Presents’ project marked a significant turn in Cristoph’s career, bolstering his confidence and positioning him on a global stage.

His collaboration with Camelphat on “Breathe,” released on the ‘Pryda Presents’ label, was a testament to his ability to bridge the underground with mainstream success. Returning to ‘Pryda Presents’ with “Slowly Burning,” in collaboration with vocalist Jem Cooke, further cemented his reputation as a producer capable of delivering emotionally charged, atmospheric productions.

With “Fading,” Cristoph and ADZ continue this tradition, offering a track that is both a nod to the past and a step into the future of techno. The release not only highlights Cristoph’s evolution as an artist but also underscores the timeless nature of electronic music, where classic influences and contemporary sounds converge to create something truly special.
