Melodically reminiscent of the laid-back grooves of Air, the track strikes a balance between nostalgia and modernity, embracing the warmth and simplicity of analog rhythms while presenting them in a polished, fresh style.
Both Förunderliga Utflykter and its album pay homage to home organs, classic rhythm boxes, and automated accompaniments. Created through extensive jamming sessions, the music is deeply influenced by early rhythm machines from Japan and Italy, whose fixed beats have a unique soul, embedded by engineers from over 50 years ago. Each track is a product of spontaneous, unfiltered improvisation, bringing a human touch to vintage electronics.
Autokomp is the musical collaboration between Eric Malmberg (Sagor & Swing, Dubbelorganisterna) and Niels Gordon (Göteborgselektronikerna), who began creating together in 2019. Both artists share a fascination with the quirks and personalities of classic machines, bringing them to life as an essential third member in Autokomp’s lineup. Their work with these iconic machines captures both their history and character, offering listeners a glimpse into a beautifully aged musical era.
