3Head’s latest single, “Ecstasy,” takes on new dimensions with a remix by the incomparable Barry Adamson. The result is an eclectic sonic journey that defies easy categorization, drawing on various influences to create a captivating and fascinating listening experience.
Barry Adamson’s remix of “Ecstasy” showcases a seductive blend of epic, smoldering dub. The track is peppered with toasting and melting soul vocals, creating an atmospheric vibe that is both haunted and haunting. Adamson’s signature syncopated basslines, reminiscent of his work with Magazine and his contributions to David Lynch’s soundtracks, add a unique and cinematic quality to the remix.
The remix is part of a single featuring three distinct reimaginings. Bristol producer and remixer DogDub contributes an uptown take, while long-term collaborator Uncle Fester On Acid delivers an ambient strings-focused excursion. The package is completed with the dreamy and floaty original version of the track, known as “End Song,” and a concise radio edit.
