Balthazar Mattar Debuts with Atmospheric Single Whisper a Love Song

London-based multi-disciplinary artist Balthazar Mattar introduces his first solo release, Whisper a Love Song, marking the beginning of his fingerprint series—a collection of 10 singles set for monthly release throughout 2025. The track merges washy synth textures, angular beats, and processed vocals, creating a unique and immersive sonic experience.

Whisper a Love Song begins with filtering synths that gradually rise, setting a spacious and atmospheric tone. The drums emerge with a bouncing, reverberant presence, filling the rhythmic space while the synth layers build harmony and depth. As the track progresses, the vocal line enters midway, subtly distorted and floating within the mix, adding a sense of detachment and longing that drives the composition forward.

This release marks Mattar’s first solo work since his early career as a classical composer. A graduate of King’s College London, he later fronted post-punk and industrial bands including LoveCamp, Hi-iD, Glass Disguise, and Kiss Me Poly. Whisper a Love Song showcases his ability to blend structured composition with experimental electronic production, offering a glimpse into the varied influences that shape his solo material.

As the first in a series of monthly releases, Whisper a Love Song sets the stage for Mattar’s evolving exploration of sound. Independently recorded, mixed, and mastered, the track reflects his hands-on approach to music-making, combining ambient textures with unconventional rhythmic structures.

With his background spanning classical composition, post-punk, and industrial music, Balthazar Mattar brings a distinctive voice to electronic music. Whisper a Love Song introduces his new direction, blending sonic experimentation with emotive depth, and offering a strong start to the fingerprint series.
