London-based experimental group Kinkajous—led by drummer/producer Benoît Parmentier and saxophonist Adrien Cau—have released their latest single, “Shifting Sands”, from their upcoming album Nothing Will Disappear, due out on October 18th via Running Circle. The duo is set to celebrate the album’s launch on November 29th at London’s Metronome.
“Shifting Sands” captivates with its hypnotic saxophone melodies, framed by free-flowing structures that allow an emotional depth to emerge. Parmentier describes the track as evoking both uplifting and sinking sensations, with ample space for subtle orchestration and production nuances to shine. Known for their sold-out headline shows at London’s Jazz Café and King’s Place, and collaborations with the London Contemporary Orchestra, Kinkajous continue to evolve with this album, reflecting a richer, more dynamic sound.
