Tommy Simpson, the creative force behind Macro/micro, hails from Los Angeles, California. A classically trained musician from the age of five, Simpson’s passion for music blossomed when he began writing songs on guitar at 13 and producing his tracks by 15. Since then, he has released a diverse array of electronic music under the moniker Macro/micro, performing as a resident DJ and live electronic musician in clubs and at international music festivals, contemporary theater productions, and art installations.
Simpson’s career trajectory includes notable collaborations with musical icons Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, where he served as an audio engineer for several scores, including “WATCHMEN,” “WAVES,” “SOUL,” and “MANK.” Since branching out to focus on his solo career, Simpson has composed scores for short films such as “OFF HOLLYWOOD” and “RAER BETA 0027,” as well as upcoming feature films like “KUNG FU GAMES” and the untitled documentaries by Emmett Berg and Katya Suvorova.
