In Shadows is a new track from Flevans, aka Nigel Evans from Brighton. It’s a lovely track with an almost downtempo, ambient intro that opens up into some damn fine funky breaks. Later we’re introduced to to some lofi brass treatments and subtle vocal samples to add a little spice to proceedings…
In Shadows is taken from Nigel’s soon to be released eighth album, titled ‘A Short Distance To Fall’, released on Jalapeño Records. It’s trailed as ‘a largely instrumental album, though peppered with lush vocal samples throughout, taking in snippets of disco, funk, beats, soul and downtempo – delivering them all with a warm, musical, lo-fi aesthetic.’ That sounds great, we’re looking forward to checking it out!
