We last featured Gabriel Stern and his experimental approach to electronic music back in 2020 with his release of This ‘n That. We’re delighted to feature him again with ‘The Poor Are Grieved, a track that focusses it’s attention on those with nothing. A street preacher opens this song, before in true Gabriel Stern fashion, things take a twist of two, using pitch shifted melodies to twist and writhe through the track.
It’s an impassioned plea for justice in a cruel world. Between the beginning and the end there’s an anthem. It’s a musical call to action. The world can’t continue with the poor being pushed into the gutter and then forgotten.
