Father Sheed is the work of Nick Jamshidi from Austin, Texas. He’s just released an EP called mild bliss. It’s rather good so thought we’d share a couple of tracks here.
Here’s Smoulder, some wonderful breaks over a detuned piano sample that’s a little queasy, yet engaging. It takes me back tot he days when I used to spend a lot of time chilling out to Ninja Tune records…
And on to the The Sound of Flies Doesn’t Bother Me, curiously titled, this one’s more of a slow burner, with a couple of chords looping around, with textures building to a more laid back groove. There’s something in those chords that reminds me of Mr Green Genes.
And finally on to Mood Language, the final track from a great release. Slow and steady is the way forward, with an organ introduction creating a mellow mood, a distant delayed guitar adding some mystery, and some synthy textures building to a finale, a great way to finish…
