Stanislav Bublik is a producer, musician, music teacher and owner of a music production school in Belarus. He was motivated to write a track after suffering at the hands of the autocratic regime in Belarus. I cannot summarise his words, so I will leave you in the hands of Stanislav…
In August 2020, the presidential elections began, after which the war in the country began.
Stanislav Bublik
I was illegally detained by special forces of Belarus, near my own house. I was arrested only because I was on the street during a demonstration concerning the presidential elections in Belarus. We were not even close to the demonstration.
It was a real captivity with torture, in 2020, in Europe. The worst thing that happened to me in my entire life. I thought I wouldn’t get out of there alive. Or I’ll go out, but with broken kidneys, liver, head, ribs, and so on. I have never seen such inhuman cruelty in my life and could not even imagine such a thing.
I heard and saw the terrible torture there. A couple of dozen policemen dragged me by the hair on the asphalt, beat me at the same time, shouting “Fuck a hairy monkey!”
They kept me naked in the open air with my hands behind my back for 7 hours, with my legs and my head on the asphalt. They beat me up and doused them with ice water. We were there without food or water for 3.5 days. But it seemed like an eternity to us. Without the ability to go to the toilet, without the ability to call or call a lawyer.
When a man in his 50s began to have heart failure, we called an ambulance. An ambulance came in half an hour, beat him even harder and threw him back into the cell. Then they punished us for calling him help.
Such things should not happen in the modern world, in any country, under any circumstances.
My wife and I were forced to flee the country, and now we are looking for political asylum. But the main thing is that we are alive. It is impossible to describe how happy you can be at the opportunity to take a sip of water and take 200 steps in any direction you want.
After that I started to make this track.
This is my most painstaking job of all time. For four months, three to eight hours every day, from that eerie August 2020 to January 2021, the entire double track is saturated with these events.
I have never been as pleased with the result as I am now. The release was attended by sky-high talented people:
Nikos Mavridis is a virtuoso violinist from Greece, whom I have been looking for, it seems, all my life. Perfectly conveyed this cutting atmosphere of loss, pain and struggle.
Nikos got the parts from me to record, and after a couple of weeks he sent me a mountain of material, which I squealed in delight when I heard. Then I dug for another couple of months, looking for all those perfect black combinations.
Alan Douches is a mastering engineer from westwestsidemusic, New York. The works of which you have probably heard, but did not know who exactly brought that very final shine.
Known for his work with Cannibal Corpse, Converge, Sepultura, Deicide, Nile, Motorhead, Suicide Silence, Six Feet Under, Devildriver and several thousand other sky-high artists.
By the way, these are not two tracks – this is one track cut into two parts. So, if you want to taste the concept, try listening from the beginning of the first to the end of the second.
I will be glad if you like the work.
