AGATH CHRIST is the shimmering, shape-shifting, alter-ego of Montreal singer, multi-instrumentalist, producer, and recording engineer Matthew Hills. AGATH CHRIST’s music centres around Matthew’s powerful and sensitive voice and complex compositional taste. It’s an ever-continuing experiment in pushing limits and boundaries until they dissolve, or, until it all comes crashing down into noise and chaos.
AGATH CHRIST’s new self-produced single, “Beg,” is an intricate electronic track highlighting Matthew’s raw, emotional vocals. It’s dark, eerie and menacing, theatrical with a hint of bass music, with a crescendo that reminds me of the darker side of Radiohead, just with a little more noise.
