recur’s Oscillate unfolds slowly and with intent. It opens in near stillness, with strings and soft atmospheric tones stretching out and settling into place. A low bass presence gradually enters, adding weight and a gentle forward pull without breaking the ambient flow.
As the track develops, subtle harmonic shifts keep things moving. When the saxophone finally appears, it brings a clear melodic focus, cutting through the haze without overwhelming it. The balance between electronics, strings, and sax feels considered and restrained, keeping the piece grounded in atmosphere while giving it a distinct emotional centre.
Oscillate sits comfortably in the space between ambient music and cinematic composition. It rewards patient listening and works just as well as background sound as it does when given full attention.
