Amaury Acosta, the artist behind Kingklavé, is a Cuban-American drummer, composer, producer, and bandleader based in New York City. With a background that spans jazz, hip hop, soul, funk, and Afro-Cuban music, his work combines tradition with innovation. Beyond his solo projects, Acosta is also a co-founder of (U)nity, an international collective blending Afro-Cuban music with modern jazz and R&B. His performance and recording history includes collaborations with artists such as Iggy Pop, Robert Glasper, Jose James, Ambrose Akinmusire, and Wynton Marsalis.
