kinderapple – swung: Funky Breaks and Reversed Textures

Cover artwork for kinderapple – swung

A funky break establishes the groove on kinderapple’s swung, with syncopated chords and reversed melodic fragments giving the track an appealing retro character. There’s something slightly reminiscent of the 1960s in its sound, particularly in the way those reversed elements weave around the rhythm.

A shifting bassline keeps things moving, while jazzy flourishes add colour to the arrangement. The various elements roll around one another nicely, with the reversed sounds bringing an unusual edge to an otherwise warm, rhythmic production.

Released on 8 September 2026 through kinderapple productions, swung is a five-minute instrumental that draws together funk, jazz and IDM influences. It’s an interesting combination, with plenty of movement and a distinctive, slightly offbeat mood.
