Electronic music trio TOURING has teamed up with poet and musician Joshua Idehen to deliver a reworked version of his song “Stretch for the Stars.” This new interpretation opens with a pulsating bassline and chopped, repeating vocal lines, soon progressing into a skipping bass beat with garage vibes. Distant breakbeats and atmospheric synths weave throughout the track, adding depth and emotion to Idehen’s poetic lyrics. The result is an evocative and energetic rework, capturing both melancholic and uplifting elements.
The collaboration between TOURING and Idehen began with the trio’s admiration for Joshua’s lyrics, and after reworking the track, they were thrilled to find that he loved the new direction. Together with the label Big Wednesday, they released the rework on August 23rd, 2024, marking the beginning of a season of new music for both TOURING and Joshua, with upcoming EPs and singles on the horizon.
Based in Germany, TOURING is known for blending analog synth sounds with emotional storytelling. Their music draws on their shared love of travel, often sketched out in remote locations with minimal equipment, creating a sound that oscillates between Electronica, Organic House, and Techno.
