James Adrian Brown - There Is Space Under Your Seat

James Adrian Brown is a songwriter and guitarist, who in a previous life was a member of alternative rock band ‘Pulled Apart By Horses’. Since leaving the band, James has been busy setting up his own label, and producing his own brand of instrumental electronic music, utilising analogue synths alongside tape machines, piano, strings and walls of ambient atmospherics.

His latest release is a 7-inch single, called There Is Space Under Your Seat, released via the wonderful Castles In Space label. Originally created in the Yorkshire Dales, James completed the production with the assistance of producer James Mottershead in a studio in Brussels.

The result is an engaging piece of electronic music, with arpeggiated low-pitched flute-like tones working alongside slowly driving percussion and a distant wind melody, that eventually gives way to piano and a rolling kick, that come back together with the earlier sounds to take us back to where we began…
