Aldo Zolev’s Peste layers birdsong, cello-like strings, metallic textures and subtle electronics into a quietly emotive experimental ambient composition.

Colombian musician Aldo Zolev’s Peste begins with a light, delicate collection of sounds. Birdsong, soft string tones and small metallic details create a spacious atmosphere, with something almost folk-like in the relationship between the acoustic timbres.

A cello-like melodic line provides much of the movement. Rather than announcing a strong beat, the arrangement allows individual gestures and resonances to emerge gradually. Vocal elements arrive later, together with brief percussion flourishes and electronic textures that broaden the sound without overwhelming its quieter details.

The result occupies a space between ambient composition and experimental sound work. Its organic instrumentation and manipulated textures sit comfortably together, giving the piece an emotive quality without relying on a conventional song structure.

Zolev is based in Bogotá and works across acoustic instruments and electronics. Released on EnnO Records, Peste is a five-and-a-half-minute piece whose gradual development rewards attentive listening.
