Atlas is a new electronic reworking of the track ‘Atlas’, taken from his last album. It’s recommended for fans of Hidden Orchestra, Cinematic Orchestra, and other electronic crossover acts with orchestra in the title.
Mirek is a pianist and composer from Gent, Belgium, whos recently begun turning his attentions to the world of electronic music, utilising his classical training and musicianship skills to great effect. Working together with Elias Devoldere, a drummer who’s previously worked with Nordmann & John Ghost) to turn the original track into a drum-driven atmospheric remix, structuring the end result around his wonderful improvisations on an eight-bar-loop of music.
Here’s the original track, a beautiful piano-driven track showing some wonderful melodic piano ideas, some lovely cello (from Jolien Deley), and building rhythmically with live drums. I develops interstingly with key changes and dramatic shifts to keep us engaged, with a little synth at the end adding some electronics to the acoustic textures that are the essence of the track.
